Red H reg 16v for sale

Post by ds23geoff »

For Sale: 1990 BX GTI 16 Valve
Was £1,295 Now reduced to £1,095 ono for quick sale. NOTE - it has NOT been advertised on ebay or autotrader - It deserves better! I'd really like it to go to an enthusiast.

Red in nice condition.

9 months MOT
3 months Tax
133,000 miles

Just serviced.
Recent new battery and new alternator diode pack. New accumulator sphere. Suspension spheres all good.
Insurance approved Thatcham 2 Immobiliser professionally fitted last year. I have a new Cover-Zone Sahara indoor full car cover which I could let go at £40.

Pros: This is one of the nicest 16 Valves I’ve seen. It is an amazing car to drive. In superb condition inside and out.
Electric mirrors + sunroof. 4 electric windows with one-touch on driver’s side. Rather nice spotlights, a good 4 speaker stereo.

Also fitted by previous owner: headlight protectors, Citroën valve caps and sport air filter. I haven't the heart to take them off!!

Cons: There is a slight drip of oil from the rocker cover and there is evidence of repair on the windscreen surround which needs tidying.
I don’t think either of these would take much effort to put right.

Classic Insurance cost me £147 this year.

I've tried to make this as honest an appraisal as I can.
Thanks for reading this.

Thanks Timmo. The DS is not for sale though. . . .

What you don't see are a BX14 TGE and a C5 - both uber UNcool I'm pleased to say. It all balances out, you see. That's why one has to go. The wife drives a P**g**t so having 4 cars to myself is just a bit too extravagant.

The 14 if available for scrappage if one of the family needs a new car. Nothing wrong with it - just looks untidy.

Hi - it's the usual problem with the metal A pillars. It was like that when I got it - just an untidy surface and there has been no deterioration since.

Have you got any further with the DS restore then Geoff?

And are you really sure you want to get rid of the valver? I think you might regret in the long run (until the DS is done!!)

Hi Vanny - good to hear from you.

The DS is up and running - it will be at EuroCitro going round the Le Mans track in a couple of weeks (well, 18 days to be precise) - as in 2006. See you there?
That's why the 16v is for sale - it was a stop gap to keep me happy while the DS was disabled but now I don't have room for 2 toys... However, there's a part of me hoping no-one wants it

Hi Citro-Geoff,
sorry we didn't meet up. Hot wasn't it? Am typing on a French computer and all the letters are in the wrong place so it's taking ages. Geoff
