1990 BX 16v Phase 2 with Aircon

Post by tim leech »

I have considered parting with my valver, I said I never would again but I dont use it at all, and it needs using so if anyone is interested let me know

It is taxed and MOTed and has had LOTS of money spent.

Quickly before I change my mind!

Its just that in 4 years its not done 1500 miles!

Its a 1990 G BX16v P2 in Anthracite Grey with Monza which has a/c (disconnected at the moment but I have the compressor) Currently showing 51000 miles but had a new speedo under my ownership in 1998 so has done approx 140k now.

Good bits:

LOADS of history with it, Ive owned it twice.

Strong engine that's been rebuilt in the past and uses no oil, gearbox is A1 as is the clutch which has just had the cable changed. New plugs, leads, cap, coolant etc.

New genuine Citroen cambelt and tensioner less than 1000 miles ago

5 new spheres and LHM change less than 1500 miles ago.

Rear arm bearings and struts are fine.

4 Newish Goodyear eagle on tidy alloys, (one of which was bought NEW in 2008)

Interiors good with no rips or tears but a crack in the vent panel on the dash.

Two new drive-shafts and new gearbox oil less than 1500 miles ago.

New lamps all round inc fog lamps.

Paintwork good, real rust and very few marks, has had the bumpers painted but front one is a bit patchy.

Scorpion rear box, devil link pipe (middle box by pass) and K&N Filter so wails like a banshee when on song.

all 4 windows, both mirrors and sunroof work as does the central locking.

Sony Remote Control Radio/CD with 6x9 Speakers in the rear shelf which look good.

Polished fuel rail and ported throttle body

MOT until 2011, tax until the end of Nov 2010.

Not so good bits:

Oil pressure gauge in/op (new one supplied)

One tappet is a bit noisy

Drivers interior Lamp doesn't work

ABS Lamp comes on sometimes

Lumpy on start up but ok when warmed.

Has had some patch welding done to front inner wings and boot floor where it meets the rear panel to pass the MOT but isn't very tidy although you cant see it from up top, I have complete new rear lamp panel to go with the car if you wanted to rip it out and start a fresh, the rear exhaust hanger has made a break for it and is held up by a tie wrap.

Heater works very well as done the fan but its not very adjustable and is either on or off.

NO LHM Leaks but I am told some of the pipes are rusty but they have been treated.

Could do with setting up as I dont think its as fast as it cold be but get it past 5000rpm and it flies...

If someone wants it and will carry on the work I have started then please get in touch, if you want it as a donor or to use for yours then get stuffed!

I guess that wouldn't stop you bidding! If you won it, I'm sure Tim would give you a couple of extra days!
