Well guys, if you've got an hour or three to spend (cold nights, nothing on the forums etc) there's some very interesting reading on things associated with this car that happened a couple of years back.
We discovered by accident, that back in the early 90s there existed 6 BX16Vs specially made to be raced at Bathurst by a privateer.
Nobody twigged at the time that these cars suddenly "disappeared" after the races were finished with the exception of one, a green car that is now owned by the son of a Cit specialist in Brisbane and competes at times in hillclimbs and sprints, however, when this thread popped up, questions suddenly started getting asked about where these cars all went to and "conclusions" seemed to be drawn as to their fate...............like as in people now were possibly driving them, yet nobody had ever even imagined they were anything but "off the showroom" when new.
Quite an intriguing story as it unfolds.
IIRC, I even asked here about it and I think Gary Cole and also possibly Marc Briffa (?) may have also contributed to the story.
You'll notice how I was adamant that there was no such animal as a 16V without a sunroof ever existed as it had been discussed before, but was proven wrong and have since seen a couple, but apparently only 6 ever existed.
Have a read and enjoy.............better than any novel you've ever read IMO, most of us out here involved in it really enjoyed it as the story began to gradually unravel and the pieces of the jigsaw all fell into place.
The car advertised incidentally, I understand is a very fine original example.

The question now of course is, who owns THIS one!!

Enjoy,
Good read all round.

From what I hear, it seems that this car might be heading your way.

Blimey, someone in Berkshire - tried to mail him through ebay, but because 'I am not currently in a transaction with him' looks like it won't have gotten through to himAlanS wrote:From what I hear, it seems that this car might be heading your way.

The grand finale is that they "crashed" the sale after the vendor spent 4.5 hours on the phone to the US which meant that they had to refund the money to the buyer.
At that point, they then organised payment through their respective banks instead of this dodgy Yank outfit and the sale will now proceed.
I've sent Dan a PM which may be of some assistance in making contact.
Keep me in touch as to how you get on as I may be still able to get hold of the vendor or someone who knows him and screw the info out of him if necessary.
