A short intro of myself.........
My name is Surjit and am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I am a hardcore Citroen nut and have about 10 Cits of
all diffrent models.
I am 46 and have had and used Cits for the past 26 yrs.
My 1st Cit was a GS1220 1975 Break in 1982.
Actually my first cars were a FIAT 850,then a 600 and then a 127.
After that all the way Cits.......
After 30 or so Cits mainly G's, GSA'a and CX's
and a handful of BX's XM's Xantia's ZX's and a Berly.
I do have a DS21 and SM27 but they are non runners.
(Awaiting funds for restoration).
I run a workshop specializing in repairing Cits in K.L.
So I have an passion and make a living out of it at the same time.
My most recent acquisition was a BX16V about 2 mths back.
It is an 1989 version without CAT with the BE1 g/box.
It is the only 16V in the country as it was imported in
by an englishman from Hong Kong who is now residing here.
The BX16V is an absolute joy to drive which I use almost daily now.
My other cars seem to gather dust now.
I guess when one gets a new toy it gets used to the max in the beginning.
All models sold here were (in the 80's) BX 16TRS and 19GT's.(S1carbs)
Then in the 90's a new franchise took over and locally assembled
the 19GTi (all manual)(S2inj).
So when this came up for sale I grabbed it straight away.
It is in ori cond.white and done only 35k miles in total.
I am a CCC member also and you can see me frequently in their forums.
I also attended the 50th DS b'day at Y'ves St Quentin in Oct '05.
and at Slough the following weekend.
So I will be around here often and share some tech with you guys
about the BX.
All I need in my collection now is a 2CV of which there a few here
and one might come up for sale a 1986 model.
Then I consider my collection complete.
Izzit possible to post some pics here and how to do it?
BTW all these cars in my signature I currently own..
Hi guys and gals(if any)
Hello
Hi Surjit and welcome to the forum.
As Vanny says we are under constant fire from the spammers, I must have removed around 15 today alone.
Cheers

Re: Hello
Welcome!
I had that problem on a forum where I'm admin, and I've updated it to phpbb 3.0 that has a much better protection (a more difficult to "pass" image on register). The "problem" is that the themes from phpbb 2 don't work on it, and there are isn't much variety of them to choose from. But it's a much better forum, with a much better admin section. If you want to know something about it, pm me.Toddman wrote:As Vanny says we are under constant fire from the spammers, I must have removed around 15 today alone.

unfortunately there are a lot of modifications to this install of PHPBB most of which are not yet available in PHPBB3, coupled with the numerous hours it would take to convert it all over and what is still limited support for PHPBB3 (well limited in comparison to PHPBB2) it is likely that this forum will stay with phpbb2 for quite some time yet.
there are a few plans for combating spammers in the pipeline, unfortunately there isn't enough time in the day to get them implemented at the moment, typically the problem only affects the moderators though so no big problem.

Welcome Surjit
I think you're well known on some of the other BX forums as I'm sure I've heard about some of your exploits before
The best way to post up pictures on this forum is to register with something like Photobucket.com, upload the pictures on there and then use the code generator in Photobucket to get the right code around links to post on a forum (it's clear when you see it what you need to do) - the thumbnail option works well as it keeps the image sizes correct when they're viewed on this forum.
Does your 16V have air-con? I would imagine it does if it was originally sold in HK - I know a few made it over there, including some phase 2s. I'm sure we can help with any 16V specific advice based on our years of rubbish climate (or in AlanS case an overly hot climate!) on wear and tear.
Best wishes
Adrian

Thanks for the welcome, seeing that BX in gunmetal grey
and with ori rims it just looks great.
I got a set of 15in Valbrem rims and painted it white
but sseeing how beautiful it looks in grey inserts, now I am having second thoughts.
My 16valver has a leaky Hyd pump and was also going to
modify a xantia pump there ,looks like some of you have done it already.
The flow dist also acting up with the stop light coming on at times.
I was also contemplating fitting a non-powered steering rack from
a BX16RS and having reliable hydraulics but it might be heavy.
Do tell me how you have fitted a xantia pump there.?
Also have to fit a fluid resrictor to the pinion.?
Next also to fit Xantia brake calipers and pads as they have better bite.
(I fitted them to my previous BXGTi).
My valver is exactly like the white one in the header.
Yup and it has A/cond but it doesn really feel powerful.
A 405 which I fitted with an Mi16 engine was really faster than mine.
Maybe previous owner didn't run thr car hard. very low mileage
at 33k mls.
Have to change the timing belt and set the belts properly also
maybe they are a bit off.
But overall it's fast enough, the engine is a cracker simply
the best 16valver from PSA better than the XU10J4 in the ZX2dr.
Theres a ZX fitted with the engine and it has run 200k+mls and still
running without having opened the engine.
OK enough for now see ya 2mrw.
