Temperature sensors/senders, where are they?
Im looking at some standalone guages to replace the dodgy standard dahsboard ones and i ned to know where the standard oil temp and pressure sensors are and where the water temp sender is. From what i can see, there are TWO watre temp senders in the thermostat housing, confused as to why there are two. Also removed what i thouht was the oil temp sender which is beside the oil pressure sender, but now im confused as to what the sump plug/sensor is for as that has a wire coming from it too. both water and oil both seem to have two senders/sensors each, why is there two and which ones control the dash guages. Also does anyone know what the thread size is on the oil pressure sender?
two water temp sensors - one feeds the gauge and the other the red 'your head gasket is buggered' light. haynes wiring diagram will tell you how to discern one from the other.
it's the same story with the oil pressure - one sensor for the gague, t'other for the warning light.
oil temp sensor is in the sump, and oil level is round the back halfway up the block.
