all the carbon tracking is worn, it has been cleaned to no effect. The car constantly runs rich causing kangarooing and poor fuel economy. The emissions are on the border line and will not come down no matter how much adjusted. Ive been told it will fail on me in damp weather. All other ignition system parts renewed.

hey robin, before you do that have you tried a replacement ecu? or tried testing it with another good one? all my old silver ph2 idle running probs were eventually discovered to be down to the ecu, i only found this out after i had already replaced the afm, icv, plugs, leads, coil etc etc etc they all cost me a fortune and none of them were at fault! i have a spare 3 row in my garage and after selling the black valver back i have no valver that runs a 3 row now.

its definatly the air flow meter, i have a spare ecu that i run on the car for over 6 months. Borrowed the air flow meter of the green 16v for an hour ( before we sold it ) and the car ran much better. The mot tester recently had a job to get it passed because the emissions just would not come down and it runs so rich it just kangaroos down the road when cold. :( . There were loads on ebay and now i want one i cant find one  .

unfortunatly he hasnt got one timmo :(

He was the one who took it for the mot and told me about the problem. As nanpean garage could not get the emissions down. I think both the garage and daren had a go at it!.

hey robin, there is a company down south that do reconditioned ones, thats where i got the replacement for my silver ph2, wasnt cheap though at £205 and i had to give them my old one which turned out to be in perfect working order! anyways tbh im not sure who they are but if you cant take the £205 hit then they are availible. maybe a google search would reveal them.
