My Sons 16v

Post by cossie »

hi, after finding out my bx has been broken into, i've decided it would be a good idea to finally get rid of my bx. I really do not want to, however, i've not used it much as i have another family car. current damage is a faulty driver lock, damaged ignition and stering column cowling( due to the break-in)... its a good runner, in good nick, it is faster than other bx 16 valvers i've driven (i bought it off keith adams).
Its had plenty of work done on it in the 12 thousand miles i've driven it... new cambelt, octopus, new exhaust more recently, gearlinkages replaced, lhm flush and replacement, new spheres, new starter motor, new tyres recently.. lots of other things i'm sure cossie can let you know about

only fault i know of other than the break in damage is that it does idle a little higher than the norm.

As i've said, i really do not want to get rid of it, but the break-in of the car has made me realise i cannot keep an eye on it all the time and its to be driven, not parked up, otherwise it will degrade....

i've got lots of spare bodypanels in the garage, front and rear offside doors, bonnet, front wings

gotta go... scenes of crime officer is coming...

i'm looking for a fair offer for th bx... i'll consider any offer to members only, then if no takers, it will have to be flea-bay, which i'd rather not, so any offer would be considered, plz start the bidding.....

The bodywork/door has not been damaged. They just unlocked it!!!!

Hate to say it, but personally I'd ebay it.
I didn't want to ebay mine but when no one on here is interested what else can you do? and I know there are many enthusiasts of the 16v that dont use this forum!

Hi Jez
Yup,it looks like we will have to.Iain doesnt want to sell it as it is a great running car.Shows up a lot of the modern hatches.
Iains had it hanging onto a Honda Type R at one time.
iain says it does 0-60 in about 6.5 secs,I dont know, but I know it shifts some, and sounds great.
I'll have to see what Iain wants to do before I ebay it.
There was aguy on here, that pm'ed me,but he hasnt answered my pm back or email about the car.
Oh well.

It may be worth chasing up anyone who showed interest before Clive as we had that trouble with the pm notification system.

Be nice to see the car go to another enthusiast but the current climate will keep values low :(

Cheers

But as a ballpark figure, what kind of money are you expecting for it? Just so I know.

Isn't fair to say I'll bid, but i'm interested in buying one... my 4x4 clutch needs doing and if I can't do it in my mates garage, the car is going.

£500 would be perfect for a 16valve.
unfortunately, I checked insurance and I'm paying £750 on my 4x4, £1599 for a 16v.

I think ebay I'm afraid :(
