Resprays!
paint
I had some paint done not too far back and the job is very good for the cost.
Only the bodykit and bottom half of doors, bonnet, front bumper and a few bits here and there was very good value think it was baout £500 but that included fitting vents an dmesh, rustproofing, waxoiling and welding a small plate in the inner wing.
Cheers

Cheers Luke, it was a good job, I remember being impressed when I saw it!
Anyone have feedback on a full respray? I have faded P1 paint and one mismatching door, so it'll be a full job for me. I'll be stripping it myself... though it'll be at least a year before I get it done, but hey, why not plan ahead I say!

Working for a spraybooth manufacturer, I visit several bodyshops a month and have seen examples of paint jobs ranging from amazing to truely awful quality.
When deciding on a paint job, one phrase truely applies: You pay your money and takes you choice.
One bodyshop might quote you £200 for a job where another will ask for £500. The end result will depend upon the time and level of prep put into the job and this is always a good question to ask.
Do you know examples of the bodyshops work, in particular 2 to 3 year old work. This is the age where the quality of the spray job starts to show and will highlight any shoddy work such as insufficient rust prep or poor quality application.
Where abouts in the country are you and I'll look through our records for recommendable bodyshops near you.

spray jobs are as mike said a case of youpays your money and you takes your choice!
its not alwyas the case that you get what you pay for either! i have seen some truely awful £1k sprays yet some amazing £500 jobs!
to repeat mike again its all about the prep! the 6 p's!! (proper prep prevents p### poor performance! )
make sure that the place has a good reputation and has a book of people willing to show of the work down the line a spray done last week is great but one done a year ago could look awful! if there not willing to show you old work then i would be suspect!
not a lot i can say really as i deal in rectification and defect removal etc rather than the spraying side of things! chances are given a few hours with the car the machine polisher and some farecla we could make it look something like shiny red again for the fraction of the cost of the full respray!!
one thing for sure though when you get it done check it over thoroughly and if you can take someone thats not seent he car before as then they wont be amazed by the transformation! and if your not happy dont accept it! orange peel is not a good look lol!

That's a cracking price Tim, did that include removing all the trim, outside and in, and then refitting it all, or did you have to do some prep?
Any pics?

Honestly robin, your RS is disgustingly shiny
Seriously, it looks great, that's the top end of my price range mind, but it's good to know what I'd be getting. Did you take the trim off yourself or did they do it? Can't remember what you said when I saw you.
I've been forgetting to post you that cheque, will do it soon as.

Wahoooooo! yeah baby! i'll prime the machine!!! hahah!
basically matey what i can do is full colour restoration within the bounds of the paint on the car! obviously if its too far gone then i cant do much with it but chances are i can!!!! one of those things that with out actually looking at it i wont know but suffice to say weather permittong a full machine polish, clean up polish and wax wouldnt be out of the question! and can tackle the inside too if you like?? prolly looking about 5 hours work start to finish (inc inside and windows etc!!)?? (can always swap cars if you need transport) price, well i dont charge that much at all matey! best discuss it on pm if you like! realistically i can tailor it to what ever you feel worthy!
