I was thinking in the tiny ones (3 pieces), but the ideal would be the full set, that if i remember well is composite in total of 5 pieces, for the bx 16V equiped with BE3 gearbox.

The 3 short ones yes, but the 2 longer ones that goes do to gearbox knob are not available anymore. But i would prefer some stronger rods than the OEM for longer durability.

If the rods are no more available get a similiar one and weld them longer or shorter, after all they are adjustable. we have to improvise, parts wont be there forever.

HI All,

Ref : Silicon Water Hoses from BakerBM. I have a set fitted to my car.

I believe one of the silicon pipes is incorrect. I have a J reg car.

On the original car there is a pipe with 2 x 90 degree connectors on it. This connects the Heater Matrix to the steel coolant pipe, - upper connection to Matrix. The kit seems only to have 1 90 degree connector which can do this.

There is one pipe very similar in the kit, but that is slightly shorter and goes on the rear rhs of the engine.

Does anybody have an answer to this?

I believe you are correct. I've spoken to Stewart at Baker BM who says a couple of buyers have queried this.

He's been sent a sample of the hose you query (item 10 on the BX-PL pdf parts list) and hopefully this will be made up within four weeks.

I was going to contact Stewart next week so if he or myself get an answer it'll be posted.

As for why this is incorrect I don't have an answer to this nor what the solution would be.

Ah, so that's the problem! I have connected the 2 x 90 degrees hose to the heater and found it it fitted only just. So now I still have an unreplaced hose somewhere. Hope that Stu will be able to correct this.
Maybe the systems for MK1's and 2's differ, 'cause I also had some problems installing that very big hose that was a bit too narrow on one side for my Mk2.

I assume this goes for all kits sent out up until this time?

So pipe 10, is too short?

Hi Chris,
It was hose 6. The top end was a tad narrow. Had to widen it by turning a wrench inside and then it fitted but it needed real force to make it slide over the metal.

Folks,

Been in touch with Stewart at Baker BM today who has stated he will be making up the number 10 hose and if anyone wants this exchanged with the elbow then return this to him where he will exchange it (if elbow has not been damaged). no exact timescale for these yet but will probably be a few weeks.

Stewart states he has had no negative feedback over the hose sets so if anyone wants issues addressed to please contact him where he's more than willing to assist.

As an aside he's been given the three oil breather/filler hoses from my car to pattern as mine are well past their sell-by date. Hopefully these will be ready in around ten days and if all goes well they will be produced en masse.

Prices have not been talked about yet. Hopefully they'll be similar to the 205 set but that's up to him.

Great, Thanks dougaldog for relaying that.

I haven't fitted the kit and I'm just trying to work out which pipe number 10 is.

Edit: Full list thanks to dougaldog

As we can see the actual hose shapes (which are very close to the original) have been drawn with a little artistic licence on the diagram!

The J is the one I connected to the heater, but if I get it right, it was meant on a different position.

I fitted mine while the engine was out a couple of weeks ago. As fas as I can see (and others please correct me if I'm wrong), hose 10 can only be one of the three 90 degree elbows but this will not fit.

Hose J as Frog states is similar to the one that connects to the heater but this was used to replace hose 11 on the diagram.

Again, if others have solved this please let us know as although there seems to be one elbow too many there may be a workaround for this.

Currently I'm using one of the elbows to connect the back rail to the heater matrix (hose 10) but this means the pipe has to be angled down and secured with cable ties, not the two rubber/steel mounting brackets.

From what I fitted the remaining hoses are:

B - 16
D - 12
E - Unknown. BBM to rectify.
F - 12
G - 9. Slightly shorter than the other two elbows.
H - 17
I - 7
J - 11
K - 18

Thanks for filling in the blanks!
There are two 12's above, did you mean that pipe D is actually number 15?
