It did have an Irish style plate, but I got the impression he was going to keep that? And I though it was going to Norfolk area, but then its a while ago and my brain is hazy!!!
Was a very good car though very tidy, went proper well........ though obviously not illegally so seem to remember that it would easily hit 120 up slip roads.....

The vehicle details for UXI 1117 are:
Date of Liability 01 10 2007
Date of First Registration 20 08 1993
Year of Manufacture 1991
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1905CC
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
It is still on the road then.
Spoke with the owner back in 1994,at the Midlands CCC,when that photo was taken.
The owner was on the other forum.
This was a really nice example, low miles too.
20 08 1993 - that is a very young one.

Just checked, and the car that was written off was owned by Sheridan Russell and was J 965 PKX so don't know why I thought it had a personal plate! Hasn't been on the road since April 2002, but strangely still shows up as registered....
It's not listed on the cit sport site, which is a shame as be interesting to check the VIN against reg date

Was just going to say Sheridans didn't have a private plate!Adrian E wrote:Just checked, and the car that was written off was owned by Sheridan Russell and was J 965 PKX so don't know why I thought it had a personal plate! Does anyone know what happened to Shaun Lilley?
He bought a whole load of bits of Sheridans wrecked car, and had a nice silver one that was only a few registration digits different from Andy B's (Who has also dissapeared, think he sold his) silver 16V.

I think I can shed some light on this one
I did indeed sell my black 16V to a chap ion Norfolk, and retained the number plate for myself. That plate, GXI 9500, lived on a few Rovers before finding a home on my tuned Saab 9000 Aero.
The black 16V you probably saw probably belongs to a chap from Uppingham - it sounds like his car, he lives in that area and it has an Irish plate on it. I think he lurks on this forum too, if I remember correctly. He also has a DS and a Rover SD1, so he's obviously a man of impeccable taste.
Regards,
Keith
