Front fog light availability?

Post by Adrian E »

Has anyone got recent experience of sourcing a pair of new front fogs from anywhere?

The p1 is going in for MOT tomorrow and although it's not part of the test my dad's found that the lights are not working. I'm guessing it could just be a dodgy contact but I know they're past their best anyway in terms of the reflector so could do with being changed.

Back in the day I bought some from GSF but they don't list them anymore so I'm guessing a Citroen dealer is also going to laugh at me if I enquire?

Have tried searching on ebay but all I get is bloody bulbs/LEDs and no actual light units!

Cheers

Leboncoin(sp) seems to have a lot of brand new ones popping up, though i suspect you might need to touch up on the French.

Someone over on the Bx forum got some from France if I can recall , I could do with some for the Zx . They are still available from Citroen but at £75 + vat each  . Have you tried any Pug forums ? As I'm sure their the same as the 205/309 Gti .

Cheers Vanny - interesting site that! I had a brief look and it looks a nightmare to search unless you happen to know what area of France includes the most horded BX parts! If you see any advertised can you post a link? Happy to try out my rusty French with a bit of google translate to get myself understood lol

The p1 lights are the same as diesels etc so may be cheaper than the larger p2/zx options? At least they might still be available from Citroen though, which is a bit of a surprise

My dad's got 1 working but the other is v rusty inside so looks like ideally a pair to sort that problem for the life of the car......

Haven't tried any pug forums, and may also have a look for some Clio Mk1 lights with the yellow lens as Rob had on theirs

Hi Mark

I suspect if they do its because they're sat on the shelf :(

I rang my local dealer and they said all fogs for BX are NLA

As far as I waw aware, fog lights are the same for P1 and P2.

I'm going to go and check

On Leboncoin, change the 3rd drop down box to "Toute la France", rather than the individual regions of France and then you will see everything listed across the entire country.

There are a few used ones listed but no new ones, I tried searching for the alternatives as well.

i've got the clio yellows on mine, they are a bit Bigger than the std ones though! As mark said iirc they are the same as the 309 gti lamps, the 205's used a different design closer to the clio's, I Think the later 405's had the same lamps in them,

you can also choose some of Fiat Seicento, the reflectors are exactly the same, but they came without a frame, so you have to keep your old one´s.

for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fiat-Seicento ... 3cd2e7523c

I think you can get them even cheaper, as they costs about 40,- EUROS each in Germany.
