hi there,
im sure you could replace it with xsara or xantia. it may ... and i only say may be worth calling citroen, as im sure you could fit a system from one of these other cars to yours just depends on thier pricing.

I beleive you can get an original one but they are over £100 IIRC.
I think oyu can use the xantia plip though it has been discussed several times but I can't remember the details.

Cheers

When i'm saying a original one, i mean like the original, not a new one that i need to sell the car to buy it. :P

Any Xantia will do?

They are rubbish anyway.

The later type are smaller + more robust, but the earlier type were very fragile.
They have a pitiful range, you have to get as close as you would to use the key.

Better idea is to fit an remote control alarm kit.

I did this, and my lock/unlock range is now over 30 meters!

ZX ones will work and are more robust, as will some 405 ones. They are all pap tho, a year or so GSF where doing 2 plips and a receiver around the £60 mark but I guess thats over now!

If you want remote you can modify the receiver or plip to suit missmatched sets, I still have the instructions from Someone off the BX site. and one plip for 3 cars :?

Alternatively look at Maplin they do similar stuff for car alarms which are cheap and work, it an easy sytem to trigger with any old sytem, maybe even install a cheap alarm? they usually come with remotes........

I'll go with that, though once it did open from at least 3 feet away ..........you feel pretty stupid some days, waving your arm about trying to find its sweet spot
