Oh dear!

Post by tim leech »

Im not having a good week, it seems everything with chevrons on that i go near breaks, as may you know the Xantia threw her toys out of the pram friday night and is sulking at work, and tonight Mr Favell (tim2cv)and I had a lads night in ( cup of tea at his and a natter about all things citroen), he has the bug worse than me! Like a fool he very kindly let me have a drive in his 16v as a comparison to mine, whichs drives a treat and is very diiferent to mine, mines faster but his seems "tighter" to drive, my steering feels sloppy now.

Guess what, yep I broke that too  , its burst a pipe and has dumped its LHM! Sorry tim

We have a saxo taken in part ex at work, lets see if I can make it a hat-trick when I have to shift that tomorrow, its a AUTO so no doubt that will go pop.

Looks like your the victim of what we refer to out here as "The Citroen Eye" where everything you look at with the double chevs on it turns to a brown substance rather than a green liquid one (although the green blood usually gets into the act somewhere along the way) and just as you're about to give up on all things Cit again, you take something else for a drive, sit and think about why you had all the evil thoughts and plough on until the next "look" from "The EYE"

hi tim,
odds are it will be a pressure pipe as the drip line was pretty rapid looking. prolly suspension pipe as brakes dont leak too bad normally till you use the brakes.\

If it was a high pressure leak then car would most certainly not have driven fine.

It looks like a hefty return pipe leak. Remember the rear brakes are linked to the rear suspension so there's always a certain amount of flow at the back, even on the return lines.

i would have thought it was a low pressure return pipe that runs along the subframe! i had one go there and fire all its fluid out from the middle of the subframe!
may be able to cut the end and re attatch it if your lucky!!!

Moved the car, went up fine and nly really leaked when on high after a few minutes. Stil no warning light. Think it looks worse than it is! lol!
It's looking like a front to rear pipe. passenger side infront of or above the fuel tank (which i took out only a month ago or so! agh)

excuse the poor picture etc.. ignore the hole in the floor and the black thing is the fuel tank.

Will decide what to do once i can be sure what exactly is leaking...
At least it didnt give way when we were out right footing it!

And after the car was going well too! ish!

NEWNESS!
