much as the title chaps! the fiat is playing up again and i have a pile of leads in the shed to try out! the rac lady (yup, lady rac person!!!) taped the old ones up and said it was better - misfiring badly! - but i wasnt convinced!!
can someone let me know the best way to check them with a multimeter???

taped them up? now that sounds like bodge, was this to stop the electric escaping???
To test-
1 - visual - are they breaking down with furry deposits in the ends?
2 are they brittle?
3 are there burnt looking rings around the circumfrance
4 the meter, most leads should be in the range 5K ohms to 20K ohms, anything less gives trouble unless you have Resistor plugs / removeable caps and anything more is kanckered! most new med length "silicone 8mm" leads are 6 k to 10 k new.

PS check your meter works FIRST - should read 0 Ohms when leads touched together, its amazing how many don't or have a flat battery...

thanks ollie! will have a crack a bit later! Shed was used as a beer fridge last night as it was plenty cold enough to keep the guinness, lager and white wine at a good drinking temp!
Rossco, am goignt o matey! but wanted to check wether its just leads and plugs or wether its coil too! as if your goignt o order it you may as well get the lot! fiat parts dont come cheap!
