Sloppy Stick

Post by jayw »

Does anyone know which bits i need to replace to cure my sloppy wobbly gearstick. Is it just caused by a worn bush or something?

Also, don't know if anyones seen those Grp N gear rods on ebay for the 205 but was wondering if they'd fit the BX in conjunction with a quickshift kit?

Cheers, Jay

BX uses the same rods, and they should be adjustable as well. Not a lot to a 'quick shift' just about shortening the turn angle on the bell crank bit of the mechanism. Xantia rods are the same too (well where a BE3 box is used)

Best bet is to just replace the plastic cups that clip onto the balls as they often wear and then just pop off at annoying times.
On the quickshift thing the special kits are not too good for track or race use as they just end up beating the synchros - a very good mod though is to do the mod to the L shaped arm on the gearbox, it costs nothing but a bit of time and some welding and works brilliantly.

Go in and click 205 Technical then Quickshift.
