silicone bottom rad to engine hoses
Hi,
I want to buy one of these, but to cover tooling costs I need at least four
other folk who want one. This is the long 3 way hose.
Cost will be £75 or less,
please pm me if you are interested.
Before thinking 'no' it might be worthwhile checking if your hose is wearing thin under the wheel arch - mine was.

Timmo they do. but i dont think they do the bottom rad hose as its different on a 205 and 405. When ive got enough money (one day) im goint to have a full set of silicone hoses off spoox for my bx
The citroen bx 16 valve loves garages hates driving
1990 escort rs turbo 220 bhp
1992 bx 16 valve phase 2 red

Spoox do hoses to fit a 16V lump in a 205 - I don't believe they're long enough to fit the BX.
Pretty sure they use Samco hose, but probably to a proprietry design.
I've asked my Dad to have a look under the phase 1 and see how it looks. I know the phase 2 was looking pretty bad when I decided to go through and replace any dodgy pipes and clips - I had to caugh up for a genuine replacement pipe which was the same order of magnitude on price to what Mike is suggesting IIRC.
Will reply when I know more. Any choice of colours, or do they have to be the same? The other pipe that would be good to get made up by them is the long one running across the front of the car to the bottom of the header tank, as it changes shape so much through its run.

Hi Guys,
What you say is correct.
It is Spoox who I am talking too, It is a large and fairly complex hose, not just a simple length of pipe, so I don't think the price is unreasonable given that it will be superior to the original item and similar cost.
Good thing about the silicone is that it resists oil well, worthwhile on these cars that always leak a bit from somewhere.
(I have a Honda that rusts in all the places the BX doesn't.)
I have bought a spoox pipe before and was happy with the quality.
You can choose the pipe colour, but you can hardly see it when fitted.

A full set may be an option, though I haven't discussed this as I only need the one pipe.
I expect most of the hoses are the same as on the 205 conversions so those will be off the shelf.
But any pipes that are not already made will have the minimum order just like the lower rad hose.
I suggest you talk with them directly, and if you ordered a lower rad hose it would count towards the 5 we need to order.
I personally don't think it really necessary to replace all the pipes, just the few that don't wear so well.
A full set would also be a significant amount of money.
