Up and running again :)

Post by Anonymous »

Finally, my 16v is alive again. I had maximum unluck with it for a long time now. Changed engine to a overhauled one, short after the head broke down so i had to replace that too. catalytic converter failed, changed it. Lambda failed, changed. "MOT" 4 times before passed emissions. It could be a long story, but ill spare you my bad english.

Here is some new pictures:

Gee they look good in red.
When I bought mine 7 years ago, the husband of the woman I bought it off had a red one too which he offered me at a reasonable price. I decided 2 were better than one, but was told it had leaky liner seals and was in getting worked on after which, the cost of the repairs (A$4500) would be added to his asking price of A$7500 making it a A$12,000 car.
I'd just bought his missus car for $9000 and it was twice the car his was so I knocked it back. About 4 years later he offered me the car again, unregistered for A$4500 but as it was 1300 klms away from me, unregistered so would have to be trucked and was deteriorating from the sun when I'd seen it all those years earlier and was still parked outside, I gave it a miss.
I then spotted another one on eBay in a panic sale that eventually went for A$2650 after having around A$12,000 spent in the previous 18 months, but SWMBO (indoors) frowned greatly and I was curtly told "Ya don't need any more cars!!" mainly due to the fact we're slowly filling the 5+ acres we've got with Citroens and methinks she might have been more approachable if she had seen the number diminishing at the time, so it seems I just wasn't meant to own a red 16V Image

Me to, but one of the rims is bent. Costs like a new one to get it fixed but those cannot be bought anymore :( Its 7x15" ET15 so it fits like a glove.

Good work and glad to hear of your dedication.

The pictures must be from 2 different occasions though as the side repeaters change from the standard orange to smoked grey after market ones.

I'll get my coat....

To tell you the truth, side repeaters are diffrent on left and right side. Got out of double-sided tape, but ill fix the other side asap.
