A short while ago I found a site (think it was on the RAC pages) which gave basic details about a vehicle when entering only the reg no. How many previous owners etc.

It was free, I cannot locate it now. Anyone have knowledge of a site which does this for free? (not HPI check or etc)

That site is no longer available, at least not for free anyway.

There is a link on the DVLA web site which will basically tell you if the tax is due for renewal, or if the car isn't currently in use but it's no more useful or informative than that I'm afraid.

I believe the RAC one now charges for the information as part of a history check.......
