My car sold! Now with new car details

Post by Mike P »

When starting my parts and literature clear out, I wasn't intending to sell my GTi 16v, but have been offered something else and fancied a change.

Bad news, the new owner collected the car last night

Good news, I got £1500 for it :D

1988 phase 1 16v with 57k miles on it. On the standard wheels, as I've sold the Gutmann's through the 205 site.

Maybe goes to show that a good car is worth some proper money to somebody who wants one.

£1500? Wow. Congratulations I guess, I'm sure at that sort of money it wont be going to an organlegger.

Tim: It wasn't a long term planned sale I have to admit, just been offered something else. I'm going to second view it this weekend, so will post a picture up after that if I buy it.

Jez: I did have, but the G reg has been scrapped and the E reg sold off cheaply locally but that's still up at the aerodrome in no fit state to move. Glad to hear that you've managed to sell yours.

Rich: It has certainly gone to Citroen man and not a Pugger :!:

Luke,

Was going to contact you re' this and mod responsibilities etc'.

It is a shame really but was offered the money I was after and it's came at the right time for me. I've got a few things going on at the moment and needed the car gone.

The "planned mods" are still in work and should hopefully be retained for my next XU engined beast :D Me and Bx16valves still have unfinished issues

Ed,

Vauxhall Carlton = Right hand drive car
Opel Omega A = Left hand drive car

The Lotus versions were badged as Carlton and Omega accordingly.

The Vauxhall Omega B replaced the Carlton in England.

Mike, my mate from Loughboroughs just bought a 90 H with 9k, (number 83 I think) on the clock, yes 9 not 90k and its the real deal, but at £19995 it should be, its SO fast but doesnt feel it! Needless to say I dont drive it in the rain.

Tim,

Glad to hear that your mate found a good one.

In a genuine one, the 3rd to 4th gear change is 120mph, but feels like 70mph. Mine does 102 in 3rd, absolute killer for passing things on A roads and slip roads.

Sitting in it you could be in any top spec Cavalier/Senator/Carlton until you engage warpdrive (throttle) then all hell breaks loose! :D
