This is mainly for Vanny as he probably removed them but you can all join in!

While cleaning the car out the other day I found some bits... I put them in a pot and tonight started trying to work out what was what incase i need to order anything!

Any clues?

Only ones I recognise are:

1. Trim screws from the plastic bits around the edge of the interior trim

2. Looks like a seat bolt, and I don't think that nut and bolt are for the same purpose as the bolt's not long enough for the nut.

4. Think these are inlet manifold bolts

11. Exhaust gasket - inlet only has 4 ports

The long pointy pin in 8 looks like one of the pins used to secure the brake pads.
Or am I thinking of a different car?

2. dashboard, underneath radio (can be seen with carpet away)

5. the plastic thing where the radiator is fitted?!

Well the head that is on your car Tim came from me and when Vanny took it he left the exhaust manifold attached to return at a later date so I suspect some of the bolts will be from the exhaust manifold.

FYI the head came from Keiths black P2 which AFAIL was reconditioned when it blew a plug out whilst racing.

Best thing is to whizz her around the block and see if anything falls off, then offer bolts etc in turn until one fits.

Ok, I can agree with some, others will just have to be tried and diagnosed from pictures of my old 16v and ones off the web pls the microfisches i have on pdf.

I'll be off out early tomorrow for new tyres. Spent 10 mins tonight converting the existing wiring for the stereo to ISO without damaging the original wires. in the past someone had used scotch lock things to add an ignition feed for the switched live... (they didnt have one originally right?) mine now only has a permanent live and earth... (with a loop for the switched live that i fitted) So far its an old Kenwood tape deck i had form an old car, not that I have any tapes though... but its tunes!

I did the same thing on my old phase 2, and added night time dimming as well as switched 12V. You can do both taking feeds off different wires from the plug on the back of the clock Just have to identify which wire is +12V when (a) ignition on and (b) when lights are on and clock dims.

You can easily then drop the wires down the side of the heater controls, and wire in to an ISO converter leaving all the original plugs in place. I also had a 10 disc CD changer wired in but it still only took me an hour to get it all out carefully when I sold the car and put it back to standard

1) Front and rear door arm rest/handle screws (3 in each, 4 handles makes 12 in total). Not needs be off your car!

2)

4)some or more of the exhaust manifold bolts. All of the holes on the back where filled so these be extra's!

5)Thems look like they came from down by the bottom of the cambelt. I got fed up with all the old bolts being wrong (the one on the left is clearly not a Cit bolt), so quite a lot of them have been replaced or arent off your car!)

6) There off a transit!

7) theres only one place there are washers that big, part of the seatbelt bolts, but the BX ones are all brass and dont get rust, guessing there off the bed of the old transit!

thats the pin off the handle for pulling the back seat forward, i'd suspect there not off your car, see if the handle works!

9) Oily one could be useful, rusty one (again) wont be off the car!

10) next to the LFH looks like the intake manifold selas (fibre, two of them!), working left to right;
* radio on top of owners manual
* bits of wire look like part of the wiring for the glove box light, or the light in the boot
* Rear reg plate light for tailgate
* wipers switch, bulb from interior 'B'pillar light, 10amp fuse, cant tell what there sat on!
* Plastic with holes in, goes on top of the relays in the fuse box, can carry the spare 10amp fuse!
*funny metal bit goes under the passnger seat o/s rear mounting point (compare with driver seat)
*seat belt guide for rear N/S seatbelt (split allows it to slip over the seatbelt then push in place)
* bolts nearest the wall are for fixing the front seats down and MUST be put in with the bent rectangular washers
* infront of them, not too clear on the picture but the big washer/not combination look to be that which holds the steering column inplace (not off your car, and you WOULD know if they where missing)

think most of the rest of it is covered!

Is there no exhaust gasket then fitted? hmmm... work goes on!
I now have 4 wheel bolts in each wheel! not 1 or 2! lol!

AFAIL all the P2s had smoked rear lights but the very last ones may have had a green tint to them.

There are 3 type -
Clear
Smoked
Green tint

So I suspect the smoked ones are the factory fit items for yurs

Oh, I thought mine was tinted with spray paint. Never seen other than clear or green in sweden. Mine is -90 produced already in june -89.

phase 1 clear,
Phase 2 have a smokey finish

Correct me if I am wrong,

but I read somewhere that the tint of smokeyness changed between the different lamp cluster manufacturers.
Sounds likely to me.

It is subtle. I dont think it matters which you have,down to personal taste.


But it does look better if both sides match!

phase 1's had the normal style of light did they no9t?? not the smoked and red ones like the p2's and latter tzd's etc???
i personally think that the clear ones look good on silver! a bit closer to the colour of the car!!!

agreed though it does look better when they are both the same colour loL!
