Front heated windscreen, anyone interested?

Post by Mandic »

Hi,

Is anyone interested in front heated windscreen?

Minimum order quantity is 10, so we need 10 people interested (kinda hard :D), but if we do, price would be £164.00 each plus vat. Delivery is currently
around 12 to 13 weeks,

Cheers

Well honestly I dont know, but I hope it's not :D

They are laminated or something, so that laminat gets hot, must ask someone on 205 forum, there is also a group buy going atm, so probably they know more.

Well it's about the weight, first, windscreen itself weights a lot less than std. item and You can also get rid of the heater matrix and all related pipes,

ah, now that makes a little more sence as to why you have got involved, sounds like a good idea but you might struggle to find the numbers, that said try asking on another BX forum such as www.bxclub.co.uk/forum you'll likely find a few more that are interested.

Tim, you realise the correct 16v windscreen is in the region of £350 fitted? £165 is VERY cheap really. I might be tempted if i had a racer, or the cash. Will be interested in seeing how the 205 boys get on with it though.

Er, but if I threw my matrix in the bin, I'd freeze to death!!!

Also, being a bonded screen, surely if it's lighter it'll have less integral strength?

Ahhhh.
Could be a good plan then, although I'd only race in the summer without a heater! I'm cold all the time.

I'd be happy if mine made it our of the workshop under it's own steam, let alone a race track!

Who quoted 350? sounds insane!!

Had one fitted to mine the other day, cost £85 all in fitted, mate of the autoglass guy across road, look and feels correct, tinted and so on. if it was green it would have cost me an extra fiver and the sundym strip I think cost an extra £15, I went for basic cos I can use sunvisors and knowing my luck I'll break it!

The corner of mines been cracked and opaque for the whole time i've owned it 6 (years ish) just kept spreading upwards and inwards - it felt like a new car afterwards, very weird sensation this being able too see out!!

£350 was from Autowindscreens! Not an insurance jobbie but paying for it fitted outright.

£100 to be able to see out the front on a sunny day sounds like a bloody bargain to me!
