Without checking I am pretty sure the iron block and alloy block mi16 gearboxes are the same so depending on what is wrong with the original gearbox you can rob parts from the 8v gearboxes to repair the 16v item.

Hi Robin,
Did you manage to resolve your gearbox woes ??
It not I may be able to help but they would be Citroen bits from either an 8V GTi or the real thing, from a 16Valve.
Cheers,
Roy.

Hi There,

the gearbox wasnt for me. it was for a chap i know that blew his gearbox up on an mi16 405 but as far as i know he,s stuck a diesel box in it at the moment. I think idealy he would want to put the genuine mi16 box back in it. If you have one let me know how much and ill give him the message and see what he wants to do.

Hi Rob,
Don't think mine will do, unless others can advise/confirm, as it is not a Peugeot item, but what I now know as being a BE3 Gearbox from a 1990 BX16 Valve phase 2.
If any good, please pm regarding price & delivery.
Cheers,
Roy.

Cit / Pug box is the same, it's only the rods that differ, they're interchangable either way.

Hi Roy
Just in case you are not familiar with the pm system when you click onto your pm box at the top of the page you will see three options - "sentbox" - "outbox" - "inbox"

If you select "outbox" it will show you the messages ypu have written and sent but which have not been read by the recipient, whereas the "sentbox" will show you messages that have been delivered and read by the recipient.
The "inbox" will show your messages sent to you by other members.

Hope that helps a little.

Cheers
Luke

The System

Thanks Luke,
You are of course quite right, I did not understand the system so thanks for making it clear.
I thought if a pm was lingering in the Outbox it meant it either couldn't be sent or couldn't be received by the recipitant due to their In Box being full.

Do you think it would be beneficial to others new and old, if on the forum there was posted a set of instructions/explanation left showing in an obvious, permanent, non date affected position.
Just a thought to help,
Thanks again,
Roy.
