hey folks,
as some of you know im just out of a driving ban and my cheapest insurance quote for the valver is £1500 fully comp! and i cant afford it just now! as a result it works out cheaper for me to buy and insure a smaller car. so today i disgraced myself and the 16v by buying a ford ka for £230  the insurance for that will be around £400! so for a few months iam sruck with this little 1.3i ka turd, poor me. but on a better note it gives me more time to perfect the 16v :D

sadly matey its what happens!
just a case of shopping around a lot! may be worth looking at admiral's multi car policy?? keep the Ka for a run about and the bx for weekend fun???

i should have droppped mine down on a classic policy this year as would have saved me a fair whack but didnt think about it until after i had doen it, but mine's only £287 fully comp, all the bells and whistles possible and the most comprehensive rac cover possible, so not too bad really!

get a coupl eof good years under yo uand hopefully for you, the ban will play less on your policy!

hey guys,
i've tried all the companys and had difficultys because my girlfriend has no no-claims cos she never had a car before i got her one but she has had her licence for near 10 yrs. she does now have a policy on her bmw with direct line for 6 mnths claim free. so we called them and they wouldn't insure me on the 16v on my own policy for less than £1500 and they wont insure it with her first and me second named driver. but because she has a policy with them on the bmw they will insure me on the ka as a second named driver earning my own no claims. comes in at around £400 fully comp with all the tattle. they also told me that after ive had my licence for 1 year they will insure me and for alot cheaper.

I'm rather miffed with insurance aswell.
Just had he renewal through for mine.
£120 more than last year fully comp.
Since there aint been any claims and I've got a clean licence and 8 years NCB I rang them up and said WTF?

Apparently I've got to live with it.

It's still the cheapest quote I could find.. Still seems like legalised robbery.
I can insure the bus, the coach and the ambulance for less than the valver.

bl##dy hell doc! thats obscene matey!
if you take the rac of mine it comes in at £225 which considering its parked ont he road and 10k miles etc. and a whole host of extra's,
shocking thing is though, its only a tenner or so extra than taxing the car for the year! (2 lots of 6 months!)
now that is robbery!

Adrian Flux laid a big increase for renewal on me this year. I have the 16V and the 4x4 with them. They also refused to do an agreed value on the 4x4 any more after an accident but still insisted on limited mileage !! I told them I was not happy and have got a quote from Peter Best of Kelvedon, Essex for agreed values (16v £2,000, 4x4 £1,000) with annual mileage of 5,000, for £150 each car. Lo and behold Flux have reduced their quotes to match but I might just tell them to Flux off.
