My poor car seems to have become an A***hole magnet, this one, after having a look, quickly drove off without leaving any details :x Luckilly I have a reliable witness  who took the reg and informed me within minutes of it happening, so now I've got to go and report it. Just when I get it looking good :x :x

thats bad news matey! looks like the wheel arch cover is a little dented too?? reall annoying when people do that! but it does look like the majority of it will come out with some cuting compound and a little elbow grease!

That's disgraceful, leaving out all the work you had to do recently anyway, I hope they get their just desserts, though sadly I suspect not.

Good luck with getting it sorted.

you're right Timmo most of it will eventually polish out, but living in a flat with the car parked 100yds away makes even little jobs a right pain.
I rang my insurer to report it and check out his registration number, he is insured, so there is some hope of being compensated.

Had the same thing happen to me in the same place on the car! with the same coloured paint! but no one saw it happen, fortunately it's not quite as bad so most of it has polished out already.

Would you believe the insurance assessor has put a repair cost of £700  on this damage, which has resulted in my car being written off yet AGAIN. Thats twice within a year and in the same carpark !!! The good news is I pushed the original, laughable valuation of £100  with the help of a lot of ads, photos and invoices, up to a realistic £900 :D
Result :D so now I can take it to a sensibly priced local body shop and get if fixed for, I reckon, around the £200 mark. So with the last write off sum of £700 (upped from their original £280 valuation) plus this £900, I've just about recovered the real cost of the last repairs.
So hang in there Jezz, it is possible to get insurers to deliver what they promise.

good news that they have upped the valuation matey! goives you a spare bit of money!!
i recon though that if you had a pot of thinners and a rag you could wipe off the paint marks ont he panels and leave them almost un noticable! if you could live with any damage left could pocket a good few hundred coins matey! (failing thinners try a bit of cutting compound!)

Hi Luke, I did try to get an agreed value policy but was told it had to be as a second car, was that the case with your policy?

Sadly due to me no longer holding a valid license the car is in my dads name but the insurance is with Highway IIRC through Adrian Flux - many detailed forms were filled out mainly due to th emods an dphotos were required but they never asked if it was a 2nd car but it is a limited mileage policy.

Hope that helps
