MI 16 seats in a 16v?

Post by NZ16v »

Is this do-able? I realise that the pug isnt a hatch, but how do the rear seats work?I have a MI 16 possibly lined up for the engine and interior, but dunno if it will work. Reckon the fronts should go in n o problem ,but would like the rear pews too if possible....will be fun pulling a PUG apart for its engine for a change!

fronts should bolt straight in, but iirc the rears wont fit, the pug rears have the armrest top attatched to the rear shelf so will have a bit missing as such!

i looked into it all be it briefly a while back as 405's had more models made with leather!!

Why would you want that?

Bx 16v seats are really cool and sportish. Putting the 405 seats would kill the originality of an exclusive and rare car like it is the BX 16V.

My 16v seats are poked and stained-the 405 mi-16 has the same great shape, but in leather.the leather in 16v were the gti seats, which were rubbish compared to the 16v ones. I live in NZ where exactly 2 16vs were sold new with leather. Just trying to get some nice gear in my ride dude-not gonna happen now with rear pew problems, which i suspected anyway. Finally, unfortunately due to PSA owning Citroen, the build quality on the 405 was muchos better than the 16v-which also made it minutely slower too!.Besides, have my eye on a nice P2 for $2300NZD, so please dont think im not a fan-these things are getting to be simliar to rocking horse poos over here, and i want a special one!!!!!Maybe will get P2 and keep her mint.

The main reason the early ones won't fit is because the rear seat was fixed, not folding, and IIRC the ph2's didn't have full leather, but a leatheralcantara combo as in the Le Mans.
Can't imagine the front would bolt straight in either. And the door cards wouldn't match. Mind you they don't on the BX leather interior!

Stick with BX seats :!:

Although, saying that, the proper door cards do go blue with age so they could well be blue  The black velour fades a bit and can appear blue but there definately is a proper set of door cards for the leather interior.

The standard fit door cards with the leather interior are the same as the monza type, but with black vinyl where the cloth would be.

They are pretty naff, so most people keep the cloth trimmed door cards when they swap the seats for leather.
