2.0 16v (5 speed) gearbox in the BX 16v

Post by soupapes »

Anyone tried the 5 speed 2.0 16v BE3 gearbox in the bx 16v?

Will it be very different from the original bx 16v gearbox, for the handling of the engine??

I'm talking about the gearbox box that comes in the Xantia 2.0 16v and 406 16v. I suspect it is the same used in the 405 2.0 mi 16, right?

I'm pretty sure the gearing is shorter on the 405 Mi 2.0 than the Xantia or 406 box.
The 2.0 Xantia box is pretty tall geared.

But yes, they'll all bolt on a D6C.

It should be a better gearbox with taller 5th gear,
In 5th gear rpm should be 3-500rpm lower than the one on a valver.
And it will fit without any problems.

I have one from a ZX16V but on my Ph 1 the reverse is left and up (BE1)
unless I change the gear rods together.

If the difference is only in a taller 5th gear, it sounds good to be.

I bought one gearbox from the Xantia 16v for by BX. Hope it is in good condition and it works fine...
