Post by prm »

The foil type engine heat shield on my bulkhead looks pretty tatty.

Any members know of a replacement/supplier, similar to original??

Many Thanks.

I am looking at doin the same thing. Im sure a good engine rebuilder would have an idea where to find some or...Me and my dad reckon an aluminium oven tray liner glued on with contact adhesive would do the trick-trimmed own, and it has to be the correct thickness. This is a fruity, untested theory, but as long as you can find a decent sized thin sheet of aluminium foil(eg oven tray liner) then you can trim it to look factory no problems. Will be trying this out on my resto project in the new year
Would rather be driving ONE 16v,than fixng TWO.

Deamon Tweaks supply a suitable material as either a stiff panel or a flexible stick on sheet, but its in the realms of £80/m^2 last time i bought it around July 2008. You might be better looking for heat reflective panels used in some ducting/AC systems.
