there is on the main site page a download to test the abs system with a multimeter on the pins fromt he abs ecu, ten minute job and can tell you which senser is coming up as faulty,
may pay to have a look at the two in the engine bay that are accessable, whip them apart and give them a quick clean, (small white plastic joining plug, drivers side if you look down between the cambelt cover and the inner wing you should be able to see whole with a wire coming out of it along with the brake pipes, follow that to the joiing plug, should be a similar place on the passenger side!)
have only had to do the front drivers one (hence knowing the position of it!) so cant comment on the rears unfortunately,

haha! Rob and Bob Hughes told me what i needed to do lol! then luke sent me the info so printed it out and armed with a multi meter set out on the car!!
is really a ten minute job, just set the MM to Ohms i think it is to test the resistancethen plug it on the pins noted for each senser, depending on the reading you get back should tell you which one's faulty (does tell you the variants for the readings in the download pages)

is a lot easier than it seems! which i think could be said for most the bits you need to do ont he car loL!

does the light go out at all? Can you hear a clunk from the ABS pump front left of the car?

If you are getting a light on all the time then i suspect the supply relay has failed or been disturbed. Out of interest, did you change the ignition barrel? because the ABS takes its power straight from the back of the barrel unless i am mistaken.

I havent changed the ignition lock on this car,it works fine.
The light stays on all the time,I'll check for the clunck later.
Everything else works fine.

If you are reluctant to get stuck in with the meter it is worth just giving the car some up and down suspension movement whilst running (from highest to lowest) and watch to see if the ABS light flickers at all if it does most likely a broken sensor wire which is the most common problem with these systems.

What are your rear arm bearing slike ?

You need to get the meter out then Clive.

If you can grab your sparky from work to give you 20 mins to look t the pdf file and whip out the connector plug under the passenger seat you should find the problem.

Hi Luke
Is that the silver box under the drivers seat?
What are we looking for from the plug?

No mate that's the ecu under the drivers seat, as I said above the ABS control unit is under the passenger side seat.

The pdf file Timo linked to on the mainsite - http://www.bx16valve.co.uk/Files/abs.pdf

You will see on this pdf exactly what you are looking for, you can test the sensors from inside the car at the plug as shown in the file.

Hope that helps

Cheers
Luke
