your quite right about the homolagation numbers, i've always believe the number to be 250 units, but having Wiki'd the answer, your not half right. Better keep reading and see what else i've got wrong on GroupB.

We were all wrong...wiki says......

T16 - The top of the line homologation special, 200 hp (150 kW) at 1,1 bar (normal boost) 220 hp at 1,3 bar (overboost) for 45 sec. 2.0 L 16-valve turbocharged XU10J4TE engine with watercooled chargecooler, constant four wheel drive with 53/47% power distribution and self-regulating hydraulic rear axle. 1061 examples were built, 60 of them for the French Police.

Darja, please do take a pic of the engine and post here for us to see.
Is the turbo of the T16 located above the gearbox?

Or was it this which is highly unlikely as PSA will never dispose their engines......

The most famous motorsport version of the 405, the rallying 405 Turbo 16 GR, was very different from the road-going 405. It was built in a coupe body style in mid-engine configuration, had constant four wheel drive with electronically-adjustable center differential like the 205 T16, as it was based on the same technology. Only two examples were made, one raced hill climbs and the other competed in the Paris-Dakar rally. Today, one is in the official Peugeot museum, and the other is in a private collection.

1988: Finnish driver Ari Vatanen set a new record in the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb (an award winning film of the drive titled Climb Dance was made by Jean Louis Mourey). Kankkunen and Piironen win the Paris-Dakar Rally in the 405 T16 GR.
1989: Victory in the Paris-Dakar rally by the Vatanen-Ickx team in a 405 T16 GR.
1990: Victory in the Paris-Dakar rally by the Vatanen-Berglund team in a 405 T16 GR.

I love the idea of the French Police blitzing up and down the motorways hunting people down in a T16, very 'Taxi' (french film, similar plot)

Nope, I stand correcting myself... I was thinking 4TC... 2.2 ltr & 380bhp.

Now, that's my kind of BX!

The 4tc has a heap of s__ american chrysler (pos chevy) block. Bloody hopeless engine for a V6 really, i'd like to see the same engine as the WRC Xsara in a 4tc. I can get a car for £90,000 and an engine for £15,000, and a decent engine ECU and tune for another £5k or so. Just waiting on those numbers to come up!

there must be done some changes... because in BX is not enought space for turbo. The best solution is put battery in trunk and put turbo on this place.

That block is a XU10 not 1.9....
The white part is it painted or powder coated?

Going by Wiki its a 4pot, i guess i might have just assumed it was a v6 because a) Americans don't have 4cylinder cars b)the engine is a half mile wide. Urgh, that car just gets worse and worse. I'm really surprised they put a 4cylinder US engine in as surely there must have been better european engines to throw in, or have a good go at sticking a turbo on the D6C?
