I was going through some old Bx photos I have and found this:
Image

The car tax checker says it has been untaxed since 2000 so not a positive sign but I've never even heard of a pre E reg car. The car is listed as a 1987 and was probably a press car.

Could be a personal plate.

Is it just my eyes or dodgy photography or are the rear arm bearings knackered?

I suspect that may be one of the press cars, when we bought a new BX back in 85 they sent us the citroen magazine for a year and I distinctly remember the 16v adverts allways showed a black one, but they also didn't have number plates on! one of the ads proudly told us that Bertone himself used a 16v as personal transport.

Also, the BX design was actually originally penned for volvo as a 343 concept - Nice! called the Tundra, and looked extremely similar to the final citroen.

I to remember buying classic or Autocar mags and there was an advert
for the valver, in black, Bertone didn't use one but
Marcello Gandini did.
I think the advert was about the Lambo Countach, designer was M.Gandini and he used also designed the BX and his personal car was a valver....

This was the first ever RHD 16v in the UK and was indeed a pre-production press car 8)

I have the a road test by John Simister that says so
