Hiya Adrian,

thanks for that, I'm speaking to him later on today so will see what he has found out.

The rad on the face of it, looks in pretty good condition, but maybe it is clogged inside.

Yep is ok in traffic, at idle.

Cheers

Overdue update, but then only picked the car up yesterday

The rad flow tested fine, and it did end up being an HGF, so various complications, and me not needing the car means he has had the car for 2 months!

Now got to run it in for 600 miles, and keep it below 3000rpm to start with.

Has had a new waterpump, new thermostat, new cambelt and tensioners, bells and whistles basically, waiting for news of the 4 figure bill anytime soon :?

Cheers

Dan

Let this be a lesson to all, BX's should be driven, not stored

BX. Loves driving, Hates garages. (though not as much as the owners wallet).

Think i'll be ordering a new HG before my lump goes back in...

bummer - but at least it's sorted!!

Sounds similar, but less obvious to what happened to our p1 - at least you didn't need a new head like we did!!

ours was probably inevitable due to a dodgy head casting, but lack of use and coolant changes won't have helped any
