PLUG LEADS

Post by tim leech »

Hi Guys,

I wants some new leads for mine, but I want some with the plunger thing at the top to stop moisture getting down in side the bores. I have bosche ones at the moment which are a swine to clip onto the plug as they have a "normal" end on them

Im not too fussed about super high performance ones as im not in to modding but just decent original equipment or such like!

Ive seen adverts for leads from £10-£100!!!!!

My dad got me some for mine that are great. They came from a tuning specialists website but I cant remember who the hell they are.
Dad???
Have no idea how much they were, he wouldn't tell me but they fit well and look the bo**ocks!

A standard set from the dealer should be fine (still available), or try GSF, I had a set from them a while ago that were ok, and only £24!

Cheers

leads

Not too long ago I also got some genuine Bourgecord leads for £23 but IIRC they did not have the bung style seal at the top.

If they are still available you can make your own up with the bung style top by using HotWires you used to be able to buy the differnt length lkeads and buy each individual bung to fit I remember doing this with the Samba many moons ago.

Obviously not a ZS then :?:
I had a Samba S and would sell my valver to get another one in good condition  or a Rallye at a push.

cap and leads

Yup! Duc is correct but double check the leads are what you want as IIRC they are the std fit items but don't have the bung at the top.

old school

Post by Toddman »

I know many people moan about the old XY engine but the bigger cc version was IMHO a cracking little engine and with the gearbox ala mini slung under the crank it made such a great handling car.

The majority of the noise comes from the gearbox idller gaer though and making the car idle a bit faster helps this no end.

Good luck with citroen :D I hear they only sell caps complete with arms now ata rathe rhefty price too

Cheers

Agree heartily, best car weve ever had was a bx with 1.4 version! would rev to valve bounce in every gear, we threw it away at 178k and even then it would easily beat the Citroen posted 0-60 and top speed claims. took some serious abuse as both me and my brother learnt to drive in it, and I used to use it for towing landrovers about on the car trailer.....
The twin choke version in amates 205 S was balistic too, made you wonder why it hasn't the following of the Gtis - those engines feel lethargic by comparison

I got some Megaleads off EBay for £25 inc P&P. Cheaper than stock parts from GSF at the time!
They're fatter than the old stock leads I had but still fit. Coupled to a replacement rotor arm and dizzy cap (one that actually had contacts!) the old girl is now going like a rocket :)

Hi just caught up with the post, the leads I got Chris were Magnecor and seemed to be spot on for quality and fit.
Cheers.

Geoff it says you have bx turbo diesel automatic on your signature, but Citorne didnt make one, is it a home made conversion?
