Think I was 26 at some point too :D

So come on then what were you all driving at the age of 26 :?:

This is the time,in 1996 when I was 26,that I had just traded the P1 16v in.

Therefore I was driving a black G plate 1.9 205 GTi :o

Cheers

Well it was 1999 for me and I was driving a very over-boosted Nissan 200SX G-plate.

Cheers

Did not have a car at that age, more a horse and cart. Never ventured very far due to the presence of dinosaurs.

Hi Dagger - the registration system here changed in 1963, and the end letter signified the year the car was made, so it used to be something along the lines of: TRT 636A - A being for the year 1963.

Then when they ran out of letters, they started again, but this time with the letter at the front, so a version of the above would be: A636 TRT, this would be for a 1983 or 1984 car.

A = 83/84, B = 84/85 and so on and so on, so a G plate/reg car is a 1989 or a 1990 model.

We have had a totally new system here for around 4 years, this is somewhat different, I'll let someone else explain it....... :lol:

Apologies if this put anyone to sleep :oops:

Good explained, now I understand :)
We have similar system here, my car has reg. OUO 252. And starting with O means about 1990. But there is exceptions, if a car gets wrecked and out of the register, a new car gets the old ones reg.nr.

1999 for me as well :D Can't remember which of the 6 cars I owned back then were actually road legal, so will hedge my bets and say it was probably either a VW Golf GTI Mk1, or a VW Passat GL5 (5 cylinder injection) or my trusty Ford Cortina Mk2 2 door GT

I sold all of these plus a couple of other 'projects' to buy the BX in 2001!!

Bex - that's sooooo unfair :lol:

At 26, I had a 1990 MK3 Cavalier SRI.

I still own this car, 16 years after I bought it.
