Does anybody know if this chip will fit the Ecu in my 1990 P2 (ML 4.1 with relays under the seat)

chip

Pity he doesn't say who it is cloned from unless of course he has programmed it himself which I doubt or the cost would be many times higher.

As has been proven by a few people including Mike E the Superchips item is poor giving less performasnce than a std chip but the BBR item seems to be a good choice.

ecu up to rp5777 = 0261200158, from rp5778 = 0261200161. So mine would be 0261200158 (rp54xx). 02612001xx isn't very helpfull so I wondered if the 35 pin bit may have identified it as one or the other. I've just mailed him and judging from his feedback he seems an ok Ebayer so maybe I'll get a sensible reply.

I have 148hp DFW with Motronic 1.3, ECU name 261 200 158 in mine, and that one have 55 pins in 3 rows.

That must result in that ML 4.1 is 35 pin? Or are there more than 2 types?

Well the chip arrived today 8) , its all fitted and tested and the car runs fine with it in. Not really tried it out that much yet but it defo has a raised rev limit, i chickened out at 7.5k and 60 mph in second.
I will take the car out for a blat later and have a play about with it under the cover of darkness  .

Well for £25 i am well chuffed :P. Went out for a spin last night and did about 15 miles. It now seems to pull a bit better at lower revs than it did before, say like in 3rd at 30mph and then floor it, also when the power comes in at 4.5k i think it now revs a lot harder plus with the increased rev limit i was revving to 7.5k with no probs.

The rev limit is alledgedly 7.8k but i wont be testing that bit

As i said for the money i've paid i'm really pleased and with the K&N filter and stainless steel back and cross box the combination of the 3 has definatly improved the performance......just need to get it Rolling roaded to find out the truth

P.S this guy is still selling them on ebay.....go grab yourself a bargain
