Mine has gone there, and on the opposite end. It's been like that for a good 5 years and the bumpers not fallen off yet. In my case its not gone from the seam (which is how your looks?) but from the middle of that flat out. It looks likes the bumper rubber off the paint and then the metal has slowly washed away.

None of mine have ever shown wear there.
It's more likely to be around the boot catch striker in my experience.
Nice repair though. I've found that if you mask off before seam sealing, when you pull it back you've got a nicer looking repair.
