I doubt I'll be able to buy it, as it would mean getting rid of the BX or Volvo, which I don't really want to do, but I may know of a couple of other potential buyers!

Well if anyone is interested come have a look and make a SENSIBLE offer for it. Please bear in mind that complete wrecks go for £500 to the banger racing boys :P

that sounds similar to my mi16x4 incident ...a bin wagon backed into it damaging the bonnet , got insurance details off the driver , insurance wrote it off and gave me the car and £900 ( i only paid £410 for it 2 years ago  ) ..but the funny thing is that being red the bonnet was faded beyond help , and was going to change it for a better one anyway 8) ...was going to sell the car for £300 but i think thats too low after reading the bx starting values , so now im gonna keep it ( can get a second hand bonnet for £35 )

he he easy fix, you can get 405 parts (bonnets) up here for 10quid. the scrappers up here assume there is no value on anything cit/pug from the early 90's.

Jezzie, I ask this purely as a carnorak, your advertising the car as a 2.8i special, were they all 'specials' or were some just 2.8i's?

The 280 Brooklands ones ran on D and E plates is that right, what kind of prices do they command these days?

Dan,

The 2.8 special came into production in 1984 and has half leather, LSD and colour co-ordinated wing mirrors and grill where as the 2.8 had cloth recaros no LSD and black mirrors AFAIK.

The Brooklands was as you say a last of the line edition-(1038) all in brooklands green with full ravan leather seats and 15inch wheels. A low mileage brooklands in mint condition will set you back £6k plus and a dog would be worth at least £2.5k. Not long ago on autotrader there was a 6000 mile brooklands and that was up for £20k.

I was at the NEC last weekend and 2 brooklands were for sale one at £14950 and the other 2 grand less, and they both sold on the day. I had a capri once albiet a 1.6 but I enjoyed it but £15000 for one seems madness. Mind you if I had one I wouldnt be complaining :D :D
