Firstly thanks for any help.

Right it starts fine idle's fine but when you rev her they is a delay in responce, you can blip the throttle and take off then it will rev?

also when driving it feels a little late in responce and oftern judders?

Its had a new coil and amp

Could it be the dizzy and leads (they look ok)

Have cleaned with carb cleaner the afm.

do i need to adjust any thing?

Any help would be great because its bugging me know

Cheers

Adie

Hi Adie
These cars do like to be kept in tip top order under the bonnet so here are a few things to look at -

AFM - Clean and tighten the pins inside the plug that attached to the side of the AFM.
Clean the carbon track inside the top of it with electrolube or similar, if the track looks badly worn you can fix this by retracking.(see link at bottom of page).

Plugs, leads and dizzy and arm - NGK BCP 7ET are a very good all round plug and some decent silicone leads will help and make sure the cap and arm are in top condition as they tend to deterioate quickly if not OE parts.

ICV - Remove and clean with carb cleaner then relube with a small dose of WD40.

Worth fitting anew fuel filter if no signs of it being done recently as well and check all electrical connections and clean and lub ethem where possible, you can also use some electrolube on the TPS as well.

You can download the retrack instructions here

Hope that helps

leads dont test just by looking! clean and no kinks or bend marks is good, but do a resiatnce test should all be 8 to 20K ohms.

fingers crossed

problem sorted! changed the cap arm, leads and ign amp and it runs fine at the mo.

Plus cleaned up all the connectors (the multi plug near the bat was in a state)

It was made the world of difference, like a new car.

Hope this will help someone in the future

Cheer

Luke, isn't that the retracking info for the 8 valve AFM? It's hard to explain but on all Mi16 AFMs I've seen some of the screws you need to undo arent accessable.
