Ignition without getting Dizzy

there is already the adapter used on many mi conversions that utilises the 8v dizzy etc! i think there is a couple on ebay at the mo!

No.
The adaptors used on mi conversions allows you to fit the 8v distributor which AFAIL is an old school dizzy with vacuum advance and bob weights a step backwards if you have an ignition curve that is mapped as opposed to a mechanical one.

What Kris is saying is could you just use a cheaper arm and cheaper cap and TBH it should be easy enough to do.
