405 T16

Post by csg100 »

I've always wanted one of these!!

I wouldn't dare break one, but that running gear in a BX would be awesome!

hi guys,
sorry but an mi16 is not worth 10k by any means and not just cos its got a turbo bolted on. i could buy an old porsche 3.5 turbo engine and get it fitted and modified for less.

I fthey bought 7 t16s and scrapped them all to make money out the engnes then they should be firebombed! If the specialists are happy to cannabalise cars purely for parts then its not surprisng is it.

£10k tho! Surely could you retro fit a turbo cheaper?

yeah with no doubt but what your paying for its the legendary t16 lump!
tns its a little bit more than just an mi with a turbo! close but has a little more to it!!
iirc they went on search for the engines and got all they could! so yes they ought to be shot for canabalising the t16's! they do keep one going though as its there show car (blue one!) normally seen ragging around the tracks at events!
eccosse arnt known for anything cheap! what they do is top nothc normally but very expensive! they did the first official v6 into a 306 transplant years ago (pepremint green 306 rag top) then a while later did the same inot a gti-6 shell! that was rumoured to cost the guy in the region of 15k in total! alot of money for being individual!

have a looksy at the link for a genuine 205t16!!

It doesn't seem very silly to break such a rare car just for the engine. I mean it's bad enough when a pugger scraps a perfectly good BX, but this is even worse!! Especially when there's plenty of ways to get an mi16 to 220bhp+ anyway.

Wish I had the money to save it!

Seller of the 405:
"DO NOT WASTE MY TIME, IF YOU WAS SELLING THIS CAR I WOULD NOT WASTE YOURS"

Quality grammer! Sounds like a typical 205 t$£t to me....

If it was more reasonably priced I'd buy it, rip the guts out of it, take lots of photo's of it being destroyed and post them to a pug site... or is that passe now?

Oh, and £36k for a 205!!!
I wouldn't pay that for it if it were made of solid gold and delivered by nekkid nubile blonde ladeezzzzzz...... well, er, maybe!

Yeah but to be fair thats a 205 with rally pedigree, heritage and history. Its a legendary car. The BX 16v owes its head design to that.

And its no threat to a BX is it? No ones gonna buy that and think "Hmm, I think I'll downgrade my engine and kill a BX doing it!"

1) Thought they made 440 of these, not 200?

2) Not registered in this country. Always raises my suspicions that on imported cars.

Seeing as it's not a UK car, overpriced at £10k. There have been several on ebay abroad recently at the £4-6k mark, one even as "low" as £3k, in Belgium IIRC.
