WATER INTK TANK PLASTIQUE NOIR

Post by Tim2cv »

Think I have broken this! (no 4 on the diagram)

Image

When the car gets to about 70degrees water starts pissing out of it from around this area (visability is hard and its raining, I'm in my work clothes etc... excuses)

Taking a picture is harder!

Anyone any ideas if this is avaliable still?

Why are all the bits i touch made of cheap brittle plastic! whats wrong with metal!

Before you get too excited, take a close look at the blank off hose (stopper).
There can be a tendency for oil to drip down from above and this thing is usually right in its path. What can then happen is that the rubber swells and goes soft mainly around the back where you can't see and can be a case of either the hose clip slitting it like a razor when it inflates like a balloon, or it simply starts to get porous and swell and leak once under pressure.
Don't want to be a Jobs comforter, but if that's all it is, that's the best news you'll get all day; when you come to fit it, you'll understand what I mean.

Earlier ones were ally (metal) I think, from memory, that a number of Peugeot/Citroen ones Are the same. Try aa breakers yard. I seem to remember breaking a plastic one on a '93 Xantia Diesel and the replacement was supplied in aluminium, or the other way about.

They are still available from Cit (Cant find the part number at the mo) but I bought a brand shiny new one for £14 about a year ago and supply was no problem then.
If you get stuck send me a PM and I'll get you one.
