Whats the fastest quater mile time a bx 16v has acheived??

Post by robin hughes »

I was on the rs owners club web site today and noticed that a couple of members who had s2 escort rs turbos were putting in quater mile times of around 13 secs to 14.7 secs @ 98 mph

thread here -

Whats the fastest a bx 16v has done it in? and what do you reckon it would do pushing 200 bhp???

would like to whoop a few rst,s with mine (the bx)

Best I ever pulled was 15.69 @ 92mph....which is pretty much the original time in the brochures

Worst I got was at Santa Pod, 16.3secs. And that was when the gear linkage stayed on (mind you it was zip tied around the anti roll bar!) I had bigger wheels etc back then too, which ruined the time.

well i suppose it really depends on how well you lift off, a great start can buy you about a second and a bad one can cost you more.

Mine has run a 15.2 but there is more to come once I get sorted hopefully sometime next year.
Car desparatelky needs mapping properly.

Tony M will be mid to low 14s I would expect but really from what I have seen there are not many tuned valvers ariund the CW TB'd car was never finished properly but that would have been good if it had been seen through.

What do the std RSTs run robin?

I'm on par with Kitch, pulling 15.75 qtr (0-60 7.6s) at FCS '04 in the G.

Unfortunately it's not been on a track since.

Although it does feel a lot quicker than the H, but a lot of that will be down to the twitchy suspension and the noise.

Are they running a strip at FCS '07? (if i can get a day off work...lol)

Jay.

That would be great Rob if I fit a 50 shot of nos then they will be about even powerwise :D

I still reckon Tonys valver will take your tuned RS though.
My car is a nice quick road car but really not tuned very much when you think about it.

luke,
i wouldnt be to sure about you needing a shot of 50 hp nos. the rs is considerably harder to put the power down :( so you would have a chance. i know my bx gets off the line quicker. Wouldnt be supprised if tonys valver beet my rs lol and it would stir up some intrest on the rs owners club if it did but then thats what i want. a bx to show them up! 8)

Next year brings a decent wage and free time, theres a chance the car may be returned to its former glory, fingers crossed.
