had a bx 1.6 meteor. nice interior and graphics but absolutly crap carb engine we han no end of trouble with that car!. i found the bx gti (im a petrol fan) for running around in but the 16v is somthing special AND thats where i get my enjoyment :D also if the 16v is driven sensibly and change gear at 3000 rpm ive had 38 mpg out of it urban 8) and thats good
The citroen bx 16 valve loves garages hates driving
1990 escort rs turbo 220 bhp
1992 bx 16 valve phase 2 red

Thanks!!

We've had no issues with the engine and it has been services by a Citroen dealer every 12 months on the dot. Ok its not fast (was never designed to be) but is economical and a nice motor for town runs and longer weekends away.

i didnt mean to offend you as yours is a 1.9 diesel isnt it?. Genral bx,s are ok but i was just saying we had a lot of trouble with our bx meteor 1.6 petrol engine and silly auto choke  Maby not all 1.6 petrol bxs are like that. your diesel looks a nice one and deserves to go to a good home.

The carbs on 1.6/1.9s do give trouble on older bxs and 405s, it is a common fault.

I`m a dedicated BX diesel fan and can vouch for them being fantastic cars to own and run. OK, they`re no sports car but they don`t pretend to be either.
60mpg is nothing to be sneezed at!
