I often say nad still beleive it to be true that if it were not for the 16v and TD the BX range would have been pretty damn poor
However the TU and XU engines are now legendary.
We have owned MK1 and 2 BXs ranging from 1.6 carb to the 16v and mechanically they are all pretty damn good it is just the build that lets them down badly compare them to the Xantia and it just a different world.
Some of us are bound to be 16v biased as this is essentially a 16v forum LOL! but the lesser models can make good workhorses
