what winds me up is that they then think these hit and miss lumps are actually worth more than £10! Half of them end up sat outdoors for months and months argh god damn post office stole my wiring loom now i have to deal with these muppets in order to find all the parts for the BX
Wish i never sold that engine! Now i could rebuild it without any problems, but 5 years ago i doubt i would have had a chance!

but surely the opposite of gas axe is welder and the opposite of ANGLE grinder is duct tape?

Looking on the bay this morning, theory about engines in sheds seems to be proved.
I think I found 4 or 5 for sale at the moment.
What a waste of probably decent cars / parts supply.

Hmm extremely rare twin fans LMAO!
Vanny is about right with duct tape and a welder though I reckon you could easily do a 205 conversion with that, after all most are taped up electrically and the manifolds and mounts just need modding a little job done.
Cheers

I have done 2 pug conversions with close friends and we took our time with the wiring and made them look "factory" finish.
I've seen them where the cabling is just slung across the top of the engine.
It's not that a hard conversion to do with a bit of engineering / mechanic knowledge but as Vanny says, most are taken out with a gas axe or grinder and that doesn't give a factory installation on the way back in

I agree Mike a nice tidy job makes a lot of difference and I have seen some nicely done conversions but as with most things you get good nad bad and the bad are truly shocking but a tidy job makes a cracking motor.
