need an ecu
hi there,
has anyone got a spare ecu? as mine has water damage inside the components are rusty etc. i think it could also be the reason for idle problems etc as i tested pretty much everything and its all ok. so needing an ecu here

Almost all the 2 row ecus are interchangeable but there are small differences in the maps hence why they have different codes.
The 3 row ones may be slightly more involved as some had knock and some did not but there are several numbers that are all interchangeable but the maps from the 405 do differ from the BX due to the HP pump and the ignition timing is different to compensate for this.
0 261 200 119 - BX 16v ML4.1
0 261 200 125 - 405 Mi16 ML4.1
0 261 200 139 - 405 Mi16 ML4.1
0 261 200 140 - BX 16v ML4.1
0 261 200 158 BX 16v with CAT for German and Swiss market
0 261 200 161 - 405 Mi16 M1.3 CAT
0 261 200 354 - BX 16v M1.3
0 261 200 355 - 405 Mi16 M1.3
That should help a little.
Cheers

Luke, by what you say i figure this is correct then?jayw wrote:Am i not right in thinking that any 2 row will work if we just change the EEPROM from the old one?
Or are there other circuitry differences?

Any idea what the difference with this one then?

Now listen here you mullet...
ecu
The ecu for the cat equipped models will, I assume be mapped to suit the cat and of course the DFW engine has different cam pulleys to alter the timing.
I would have thought that some countries may have had differing stds for emissions.
