It appears i bought the bx without a jack.

i hear it's the best way to lift the car without extra wood and/or damaging the subframes.

have you looked inside the spare wheel, thats where it "officially" lives, tidy, but a PITA as it's the easiest/quickest way to get it up to a decent height, 'though I wouldn't get under it without axle stands.
