Speedo Drive

Post by jayw »

Do the BE3 gearboxes have different speedo drives?

For example: We have 140mph on our speedo, the Peugeot 405d has only 120mph, so if we put the 405's gearbox in our cars is the speedo still accurate? (well, as accurate as it was)

gearing

Post by Toddman »

Well there will either be gearing at the gearbox end of the cable or the head end.
Common way on gearboxes I have worked on was to have a nylon gear running from the diff which the cable plugged into - I do think the BE3 uses this method as well.

The citroen manuals may mention this but I have not looked if you are struggling I will have a read through for you.

Miles from 205 drivers will definitely know off th etop of his head

Cheers
