Hi, I've been lurking in the background here and over on http://www.bxclub.co.uk/forum/ and I thought I should introduce
myself, my name's Chris (obviously), I'm 29, a Civil Engineer and I live in Chester.

I'm hopefully picking up a BX 16v on Saturday.

I've had a ZX volcane in the past and unfortunately I have to say it was the most unreliable car I have ever owned!!! It was appalling! Hopefully this one will be a little better eh?

My Mum had a Xsara VTS up untill last year, the cam belt snapped on that but it was erm, a little overdue.....

I had loads of fun rebuilding that! The exhaust manifold is a real problem on that engine!

I'm buying the BX to run while I rebuild my Alfa 156 - It's currently in a million bits.....

Welcome :D

Which of the recent cars that have been up for sale have you bought - one of the ebay ones?

Fine collection of cars - we went from a ZX (although only a 1.8 8V) to a Xsara VTS which was great fun.

Your neighbours must love you with all these cars in bits on your drive  What are you doing with the Alfa - looks pretty substantial judging by the lack of a front end

Thanks. The neighbours have been remarkably understanding considering. At the moment we have between us

Alfa 166 3.0 (My Dads)
Alfa 156 2.0 Selespeed (My current runabout - a spare and for sale)
Alfa 156 2.0 (My brothers)
Alfa Brera (Mums)
Alfa 147 1.6 (My other Brothers)
Alfa 156 2.5 (My project car)
Alfa 166 2.0 (MOT today should be for sale)

And a BX on its way. Its not as bad as it sounds. We do have space for 2 cars on the drive afterall........

As for my 156, it started out as an engine transplant (it spun a main bearing and ruined the engine) but its become more involved than that. Things are moving though, I'll be glad when its done as its been my life outside of work since september last year. Every single night and weekend.......

I prefer the brera. I'm not good looking enough to drive a convertable..... Did have a go in a 3.2 at an Alfa Experience driving day last year. Very nice it was too. V6 isn't an arresi V6 though. :(
