AHHH SH*T!!!!!!!!

Took the drivers wing off today to sort the dent out on the drivers door edge where its been opened too far! Wish I hadnt bothered now. If I wasnt so attched to it I would throw in the towel and break it but its too nice a car, had 2 new driveshafts fitted less than a week ago too!

So my cheap BX16 is up for grabs if anyones after a cheap reliable but mechanically excellent BX.

Oh dear

Is actually quite an easy area that to fix really, as you don't have to be the pretiest welder as the wing covers it up and the hydraulic reservoir will hide any indiscretions on the other side.

Just watch out for smouldering seam sealer when you do it.

One of the mechanics at work is handy with a welder so will get him to have a looky, going to be brave an dtake the passenger wing off too, if its as bad as this one its worth getting them done at the same time.

common spot tim. I doubt theres a 16v on the road that hasnt gone rusty there. Our green one had gone there so the rot was ground out and a plate fitted over the hole. then plastered with underseal

Indeed luke, theres NO CHANCE of me throwing in the towel and getting rid as ive spent far too much on her so far, and to be honest Im far too attached to it after the circumstances of getting it back after 7 years apart.

Ive owned it a whole year next week and still done less than 500 miles!

There a real easy job, just dont for get the bolt inside the engine bay and the one holding on the wheelarch liner. I was shocked how lighht and flimsy the wing was nce I had taken it off!

As i remember the one on the wheelarch line is probably so rotten,
that i had to cut something out to get the wing off the donor car.
